Robert Golan-Vilella is an associate in ELG’s Litigation practice.

Prior to joining ELG in 2024, Rob was an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of White & Case LLP. At White & Case, Rob’s practice focused on civil litigation, including commercial disputes and suits involving foreign actors in U.S. courts. Rob was also an active contributor to the firm’s pro bono efforts, in particular as part of a team that successfully obtained their client’s release under the D.C. Incarceration Reduction Amendment Act. 

Rob served as a law clerk to Judge Ronald Lee Gilman on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and Judge John J. Tharp, Jr. on the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. He also worked with the North Carolina Democratic Party's Absentee Ballot Chase & Cure Program in the lead-up to the 2020 general election.

Rob is a graduate of Yale University and the University of Chicago Law School, where he was an Articles Editor on The University of Chicago Law Review and a member of the Jenner & Block Supreme Court and Appellate Clinic. Before attending law school, Rob was Managing Editor of The National Interest and a Herbert Scoville Jr. Peace Fellow at the Arms Control Association. He is based in ELG’s Washington, D.C. office.
