Tori Shaw is an Associate in ELG's Litigation practice, where her and her colleagues litigate across the country to protect voting rights and democracy.
Tori received her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, where she served on the Executive Board of the Maryland Law Review and as a member of the Post-Conviction & Sentencing Clinic. Within the clinic, Tori helped secure the release of a client who had been imprisoned for more than 20 years pursuant to the Juvenile Restoration Act. During law school, Tori also worked on novel 14th Amendment litigation at CREW and interned at the Maryland Commission on Civil Rights. Her scholarship includes a published law review note on the Eighth Amendment—which has since been cited in the UC Davis Law Review and the Tulane Law Review—and a recent article proposing the Privileges or Immunities Clause as a roadmap for restoring reproductive rights nationwide.
Tori holds a B.A. in Cognitive Science and Creative Writing from Franklin & Marshall College. She clerked for the Honorable Shirley M. Watts of the Supreme Court of Maryland and was selected to join the U.S. Department of Justice's Civil Division through the Attorney General's Honors Program. Tori is based in ELG's Washington, D.C. office.
