Ian Baize is an associate in Elias Law Group’s Litigation practice. He works on ELG teams fighting for fair elections and voting rights in state and federal court.

Before law school, Ian studied history and Hispanic Studies at Hamilton College, graduating summa cum laude in 2018. At Hamilton, he was a writing tutor and volunteered on Democratic campaigns as co-president of the College Democrats.

Ian then attended The University of Chicago Law School, where he was a David M. Rubenstein Scholar, and a Comments Editor for The University of Chicago Law Review. During law school, he interned with the U.N. Special Rapporteur for extrajudicial, summary, or arbitrary executions and the Illinois Attorney General’s Workplace Rights Bureau, and participated in the Law School’s Civil Rights Practicum. After graduating with high honors in 2021, he clerked for Judge Frank H. Easterbrook of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.

Ian is based out of the firm’s Washington, DC office.
